Coastal Home Renovations in Rooi-Els

Rooi-Els is one of the most remote and unspoilt villages on the Western Cape coast, with homes set against the mountains along Clarence Drive. Its isolation is the appeal, but it also means a renovation needs to be planned thoroughly, as there are no local building suppliers and many plots are on rocky, sloping ground.

We complete the design, measurements and specifications before work begins, manufacture the joinery in our workshop and coordinate deliveries and trades so the project runs smoothly once on site. The exposed coastal setting is tough on materials, so we specify finishes and hardware built for it. Many Rooi-Els homes are weekend retreats, and we keep owners updated throughout so they can follow progress from afar. Every project comes with a clear quotation and after-sales service.

We started the renovation of our kitchen journey in October 2023 and worked closely with Michelle to come up with a plan for our kitchen at a price we could afford. Michelle was extremely responsive, helpful and available to provide advice. In April 2024 renovations started and took approx. 10 working days to complete however the 10 days are stretched over 3/4 weeks to allow each team to complete their part of the work. Anyone who has done renovations in their home will know how disruptive it can be but the Kitch Me Up teams were amazing. We had 3 different teams working on various days in our kitchen and all of them were professional and respectful of our space. We've had a very pleasant experience working with Kitch Me Up and I would highly recommend their services. We love the outcome of our kitchen and will most certainly work with them again.
